Standing For God's Truth

“Tolerance is the virtue of a man without convictions” - G.K. Chesterton

In today’s society, oftentimes, our beliefs and Christian convictions are not always politically correct. Many Good men and woman have been called bigoted and intolerant, narrow minded or just plain stupid. The so called secular progressive movement in the United States, in particular, those who subscribe to this method of thinking, have apparently become so intellectually and philosophically advanced that they have, by their own self proclamation, evolved beyond the time tested values and foundations in which our Nation was founded. Traditional thinking and absolute Biblical morality are no longer valid viewpoints and definitely not anything to live by or base our actions upon. Knowledge has surpassed Wisdom in importance, logic has now been placed above Faith, the accumulation of facts have been dubbed of higher worth than the study of the word of Almighty God. As Christians we are required to stand up and speak Truth, even when that Truth is not popular. We are commanded to live our lives to a higher standard, to separate ourselves from the wickedness of the world.(See 2 Corinthians.6:14-18) We must take a stand and let our voices be heard. Both individually as well as collectively as the body of Christ in the Earth. You will be persecuted, you will experience attempts to silence your voice, you will have your character and your motives questioned. But I submit to you, what is the alternative ? To be silent. To allow the wicked to run wild without warning them of the Judgment in which they are incurring against themselves from God the Just and Holy Judge of Humanity. (See Romans 1:18)

I will not stand by and let the evil go by unchallenged. I will not Judge men and woman, that is not my right nor is it my Job, that task belongs to God and God alone. But I will speak TRUTH I will declare what the word of God says. Not to put down or to belittle, but to In Love, Try and reach a sinful and wicked generation who have turned from the doctrines and the commands of Almighty God. I will declare,

It Is a Sin to have sex before marriage.

It is a Sin to engage in Homosexual Acts and Lifestyles.

It is a Sin to Lie and cheat and steal to make a Buck.

It is a Sin to mistreat and abuse people.

It is a Sin to call what God calls Good and call it Evil.

It is a Sin to have much and refuse to share some of it with those who have Little.

It is a Sin to put anything or anyone above God in your life.

It is a Sin to keep silent and let people die and go to Hell.

Will you stand up, will you speak Truth ? I WILL.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
1 Thessalonians 5:21

Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. 2 Thessalonians 2:15

The Fear of The Lord

The Lord your God has directed me to teach you his commands, rules and laws. Obey them …. Then you, your children and their children after them will have respect for the Lord your God as long as you live. Keep all of his rules and commands I'm giving you. If you do, you will enjoy long life.
Deuteronomy 6:1-2 (New International Reader's Version)

We as a Nation and as a people have virtually lost most if not all of the fear of the Lord. We look at God as just some figure or character in our Bible stories. We have lost that reverence and respect that people of this Nation once had. There were things one did not do out of the fear of the Lord. Now we have such a user friendly happy go lucky bunch of preachers that talk about God like He's one of our buddies we hang with on the weekends. God is Love, God is our friend, We can talk to Him and have a great relationship with Him, that's all true. But at the same time we must never forget God is Holy and He is our Judge as well as our Father.

While our Heavenly father always desires to spend time with us He always desires to talk with us and to fellowship with us in His presence. At the same time we must remember who it is we are dealing with. As a young boy I remember going to Niagara Falls and seeing those falls gushing down It was amazing. You could hear the thunder of the waters crashing down into the bottom their you could feel the cool crisp breeze coming from the force of the waters and the mist building upon your face. I just thought how beautiful that sight was it was like nothing I had seen before. I took pictures to remember my experience but the entire time I stood their I could feel a deep feeling of fear, not a terror like something bad was going to happen but a genuine respect for the awesome power that was setting right in front of me. You just knew there was a point you did not cross you could enjoy the beauty and experience of the great falls so long as you always respected it's great power.

This is how we should treat God We can freely enjoy His beauty and His goodness, His loving kindness and his wonderful fellowship but we must do so always remembering we are in the presence of the Almighty creator of the Universe who with one word from His mouth could destroy the entire Universe if He so chose to. That is power. Do fear your father in Heaven as a slave subject to a tyrant, but respect His great power and Holiness as a son respects His father and His ability to correct Him if need be. My Dad loves me I could go to him for anything but as a child I knew a line not to cross and if you crossed that line Loving Daddy turned into Disciplinarian who must correct his child behavior. Part of God's love is God's discipline.

We have turned our hearts away from God and followed our own desires as a Nation and we are seeing the results of our disobedience. God directs our path not to keep us from enjoying things God directs our paths to save us from suffering, because of those things. Love always protects, always corrects, always gently guides. God is Love and we must respect Him as the God of Love but also,as the God of Discipline.

Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: Job 5:17(King James Version)

The Lord trains those he loves. He is like a father who trains the son he is pleased with. Proverbs 3:12 (New International Reader's Version)

The LORD corrects everyone he loves, just as parents correct their favorite child.
Proverbs 3:12 (Contemporary English Version)

1-10 Hallelujah! I give thanks to God with everything I've got— Wherever good people gather, and in the congregation. God's works are so great, worth A lifetime of study—endless enjoyment! Splendor and beauty mark his craft; His generosity never gives out. His miracles are his memorial— This God of Grace, this God of Love. He gave food to those who fear him, He remembered to keep his ancient promise. He proved to his people that he could do what he said: Hand them the nations on a platter—a gift! He manufactures truth and justice; All his products are guaranteed to last— Never out-of-date, never obsolete, rust-proof. All that he makes and does is honest and true: He paid the ransom for his people, He ordered his Covenant kept forever. He's so personal and holy, worthy of our respect. The good life begins in the fear of God— Do that and you'll know the blessing of God. His Hallelujah lasts forever! Psalm 111:1-10 (The Message)
